Very good examples, mostly direct quotes from the framers, and graphic depictions of how the states are meant to keep the federal government's powers in check. Quick and easy to read.
As an elected South Carolina legislator I found Ken Ivory's book, Where's The Line, America, to be the foremost treatise on federalism, as intended by the framers of the US Constitution. I found it insightful and relevant to today's most pressing concerns and political debates. I highly recommend this book to all who have interest in the true and intended role of the states in American governance.
Representative Ken Ivory incisively points out the duties of the States (through their Legislators) to be active in holding the line on Federal government overreach. This is a must-read for all American who are concerned about the preservation of our liberties as Americans through the jealous protection of our unique and hard-won American system of Federalism!

Mr. Ivory has succinctly reviewed the constitutionally defined roles of federal and state governments. Had our legislators heeded these boundaries over the past few decades, we would not be wrestling with an overgrown, out of control federal government that threatens to bankrupt our nation.
Certainly our Founding Fathers could not possibly have foreseen the many technological, social, financial, and moral challenges of our time. However, they had a remarkable understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of human nature, the dangers and corrupting influences of power, and the need to establish a framework of government which provides the best balance between the need for leadership and national unity with the desire for maximum personal liberty.
I highly recommend you read this book. Purchase a second copy, and give it to your U.S. Representative, Senator, or neighbor.
